Winter Wildlife by Josie Wood<\/p>
My design is inspired by the two groups of animals I think of when I hear \u2018winter wildlife\u2019 - the colour changers, adopting a special white coat for the snowy months, represented here with the ptarmigan, mountain hare, and stoat - and storybook favourites, creatures I imagine in a festive woodland story, the badger, barn owl, partridge and robin.\u00a0<\/p>
I thought combining these two groups would give an interesting mix of instantly recognisable British wildlife, and maybe spark conversation about the less recognisable but still incredible creatures across our landscape.The design shows these animals in a gentle star motif, surrounded by ivy vines, to enhance the subtle wintery design and make it stand out from a distance as well as up close.<\/p>
It\u2019s a transparent design with white details, so it will stand out and look good on a range of different coloured jumpers - I imagine it on a dark green, but mockups look equally good on green, red, and brown backgrounds too. <\/p>
It\u2019s a digital design, made with procreate on my iPad with traditional-inspired brushes to try and maintain that storybook, cosy feel.
